Our friend Eva came to church and her BAPTISM is on saturday WOOHOO🥳🌊 Hermana Foutz and I were walking in the streets when we stumbled on a pile of intestines spilling out of a dulce de leche carton🤌 the bandista church sacrifices animals and we found the left overs of a ritual i guess We saw a dog get hit by a car and die right in front of us. Hermana foutz and i just stood there in shock!! Rip dog😢 My favorite charla this week was with our 13 year old friend Franco. During the lesson Franco's dad (who is baptized) bore the most powerful testimony on the power of prayer. He said not long ago he only had 50 pesos (which is like nothing!!) He remembers getting on his knees and crying to God because he didnt know how he was going to feed his family. He then took the money to go buy one last loaf of bread. On the way to the store, his friend called saying he was going to repay him a debt he owed from years ago! The friend paid him 4,500 pesos that day. Crying, this dad testified that God hears prayers and answers them. I had tears streaming down my face- the spirit was so strong in that room. I felt so humbled in that moment to be able to represent Jesus Christ and also extremely grateful for my dad who made sure we always had food on the table "In moments of pain, loneliness, or confusion, we know that our Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son are aware of our circumstances and They yearn to bless us." -henry b eyring The power of prayer is REAL. I know our Heavenly Father hears and answers each prayer- even when we're not sure what to say, God knows and understands our thoughts and feelings. Hello mom! Hopefully we will be able to call today, if not tomorrow! Have you downloaded whatsapp? HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!🤩🩷🌸🎉 I woke up thinking about you today and am so grateful to have such a gem of a mom like you.💎 You truly are my best friend and my biggest example. I miss you every day! I loved when you would pick me up from school to get lunch, especially for my birthday- that was always so fun. How lucky I am to know my mom would do anything for me, like sew a whole dress just so i could be abigail adams for halloween!!😆 You are so fun to be around. I love talking with you and making you laugh, driving around looking at houses together, going on walks, working out together, even just running errands on occasion (i do miss costco dearly). I miss watching documentaries together!! You are so important to me! Thank you for all of your support- sitting at all those HOT soccer games, encouraging me through the ups and downs of high school, supporting my dreams of travel, and all your fasting and prayers as i serve a mission. I don't know what I would do without you!! Thank you for being my friend and confidant! This week was a bit rough for me. Spanish is really really hard, not knowing what people are saying is EXHAUSTING and then trying to talk and no one understanding you is SO humbling. I got called a mute by one guy this week😐 Im trying really hard but its a struggle feeling like you arent progressing. At times its daunting to think I still have 16 more months, but i know it will get easier as i get the hang of things. Ive heard the first few months of the mission is the "refining fire". I feel im being refined😅 On wednesday night we had an 8 hour overnight bus to Montevideo for zone conference. I started not feeling good right before we left. The bus was FREEZING and by the time we made it to Montevideo, i had a fever, chills, nausea, and bathroom problems (if you know what i mean) on top of not eating, sleeping, or water for close to 18 hours at that point. I was also called up on the spot to say the prayer in spanish in front of everyone (including colton) and then had to sit through the entire conference on the verge of death. Not a good first impression for meeting all the missionaries and President Santiago in person for the first time dang it🥲 after we had a 8 hour bus back to Rivera which also broke down in the rain!! Could it get any worse am i right?!😭 I think I had my first taste of home sickness. We finally got home at midnight and i threw up. It was a long week, and i couldnt help but want my mom. Anyway sad experience but moral of the story- i miss you dearly and you are truly the best mom i could ever ask for. I want to be EXACTLY like you. I love you mom!! Your Hannah Bear

Dogs!! May 4, 2026

I hit 2 months as a missionary and got attacked by a dog for the first time this week!!! Scariest moment of my life #survivor🙂🫰Me and hermana foutz were just walking in the street clapping outside houses when this dog came out of an alley growling and snarling its teeth. Just as we walked past, i looked back and it LUNGED at me with its mouth open and everything!! I screamed so loud he backed off just enough for us to make an escape😭 I legit thought i was cooked💔 Shoutout to my mom jilly that is literally her biggest fear ⚠️WARNING gross stuff⚠️ it rained so hard this week. While me and hermana foutz were trudging through the flooded streets we saw a headless rat the size of a small dog in the gutters- i just about died right there. There was also a decaying dog in the front of our friend's house. YIKES Bishop had us over for uruguayan barbeque!! He handed me a piece of meat and told me to eat it... gulp okay. After, he told me i had just eaten CAT🐱. My heart literally stopped. He started laughing and was like "relax its only chicken heart" bishop what😭 it was so funny. chicken heart- i wont even lie it was fire. Id eat it again. People love to guess where im from which is so funnyyy!! Ive gotten russia, sweden, denmark, norway. Its cuz im white isnt it😐 We had so many miracles this week. This is God's work, He is in control and He truly is in the details of our lives- His arms constantly reaching out to each individual, inviting us to come and find rest in our Redeemer (Enos 1:27) One of my favorite miracles from the week- we were knocking a street on the outskirts of our area and no one was answering :( It was dark, cold and we were tired from walking. We finally get to the last house and- no answer. Just as we were about to leave a woman walks up and says her name is Genifer and she lives there! (Insane timing #miracle) Genifer was SO sweet to us. She told us her husband has a tumor and she wants to believe in God, but she just doesn't know. Her 9 year old daughter however is super interested. The spirit was so tender as we testified of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. She and her daughter want to come to church and get baptized together!! Before we left she gave us alfajores and we gave her a Book of Mormon🥹 "For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever..." (2 nephi 27:23) I am so grateful for our Creator who is all-knowing, merciful, loving, and a God of MIRACLES🤍 Please pray for Genifer and her family that they will come to church and begin to progress along the covenant path!!
