Gauchos en la Cucha!!🤠

Opaaaa todo bien en Uruguay!! Join the google photos!!🥳https://photos.app.goo.gl/qQvpEJ4Dtju4s6av8 After leaving the mtc I flew into chicago (shoutout the awesome couple who took me to chickfila in the airport) to panama and then down to uruguay all by myself. wow. When i got into Panama i thought i was cooked because literally everyone was speaking SPANISH gulp😬. Luckily i found my gate haha and i remembered I had an extra book of mormon with my testimony written inside of it- but it was in English :( so then I said a prayer and asked Heavenly Father to make a way for me to give my Book of Mormon to someone. Next thing I know some guy sits down next to me and asks, "do you have the Wi-Fi?" IN ENGLISH. Bet. we started talking and it turns out he had met with the missionaries before, but had lost contact because he was moving from Oregon to Montevideo, and that he was in need of a community down there😏 I was able to share my testimony about the book of mormon and set him up with the missionaries in his area. SO CRAZY. I got into Montevideo after like 15 hours of travel yikes. These elders told me we were going to grab lunch but then they put me on a bus ALONE and told me to get off 7 hours later at rivera. WHERE IS RIVERA?!?!😭😭 luckily i knew enough spanish to ask for help and the bus driver told me when to get off but oh my gosh i was scared for my life. But it was so worth it because waiting for me was my TRAINER MIA FOUTZ. Mia is one of my dear friends from back home in Gilbert i LOVE her. President said he didnt even know we were old friends he just had the strongest prompting mia needed to be my trainer. GOD IS SO AWARE OF EACH INDIVIDUAL AND HE IS SO GOOD🤩🥹🤍 Okay so im in Rivera which is so close to the border we can go to brazil on pdays!! This area is called the cucha aka the boonies-out in the middle of nowbere with tons of gauchos (uruguayan cowboys) it is sooo much fun. We are whitewashing the area so there is a LOT of work to be done which is great we are so busy. People call me rubia a lot😂 I love the people here and i love being a missionary. My favorite lesson we taught this week was with our friend Andrew. He was baptized and working towards a mission when he messed up and couldnt go anymore. He became inactive because he felt too ashamed to go back. We were able to testify of the healing power of the Atonement. The spirit was so strong- Andrew said he could feel it in his throat and was all choked up. I feel so blessed to be able to testify of Jesus Christ and feel the love He has for each individual. The power of the atonement is real. Sometimes we can feel like we're drowning- but im so grateful for a Savior who can walk on water "He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him..." (2 Nephi 26:24) I know He loves you!! Hermana Coon
